As a Senior Planner at RK&K, I worked on GIS analyses, data visualization, project prioritization, and report refinement for the MD 185 and MD 187 Needs Analysis studies located in Montgomery County, Maryland (just outside of Washington, DC).
In partnership with Montgomery County, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) was seeking to identify strategies for these two corridors to improve multimodal safety and address pedestrian and bicycle mobility needs. The needs analysis report for each corridor resulted in a series of near-, mid-, and long-term multimodal improvement recommendations. Some examples of the mapping, data analysis/visualization, and project prioritization work I performed during this project are shown below.
