Motivate, Inc. hired Alta Planning + Design to perform siting analyses and final site plans for Citi Bike's expansion across the Hudson River to Jersey City, NJ.
I was Alta Planning + Design's lead planner for this effort. Project tasks involved determining suitable sites and distributions for the initial Phase 1 launch and coordinating siting logistics between Alta, Motivate, and the City of Jersey City. Data collection, mapping, and site visualizations using programs like ArcGIS and Adobe Illustrator were integral to the process.
Citi Bike's expansion into Jersey City was implemented, and the system remains in use today.
I created the map above to display a first draft of potential bike share station sites, including approximate service areas.
Above is an example of a map I produced for Motivate to inform a siting decision at the West Side Light Rail station in Jersey City.
